Full Moon Meditation Drum Circle:
On the Saturday closest to the Full Moon, we'll gather in community to drum, meditate, and celebrate the fullness of who we are. Each gathering will include group drumming and some sort of guided meditation to help the group tap into the wisdom of their body, mind, heart, and spirit. No drumming or meditation experience necessary and all genders welcome! Bring a drum or percussion instrument if you have one and a yoga mat/blanket if you'd like to lay down for the meditation. The center will also have drums and percussion instruments to share.
Saturday, April 4th
6:30pm - 8pm

Why the moon?
The moon is a visual guide that shows us the creative process of a life cycle over the course of 28 days. Dark, new, waxing, full, waning, dark, repeat. Dream, plant, act/create, celebrate, release, repeat. The moon influences the tides of the waters and human bodies are made up of 60% water! So we feel the pull and influence of the moon on our being. While new moons are potent time to get quiet and journey inward into ourselves, full moons in particular are great for gathering together in community for celebrating, making music, tapping into our wisdom, celebrating the fullness of our experience, and preparing to release and let go for the next stage of being.
Why drumming?
Sound and vibration have healing qualities, especially on bodies that are made up of so much water. Drums have a meditative quality about them and can support the process of quieting our minds, grounding into our bodies, focusing on the breath, supporting our imaginations for journeying, and cultivating our creativity. Drumming is a collaborative way to create music with a group of other big hearted people.
